New Luxury Catered Chalets
Accommodation takes centre stage this season with plenty of noteworthy additions. One of which is Chalet Sarire, the latest luxury catered chalet from Buildmyskitrip. This spacious 350m² chalet features five beautifully appointed bedrooms in the main house, along with a self-contained ground floor apartment that adds two additional bedrooms and a private lounge, perfect for families or groups seeking both comfort and privacy. Guesses gather in the main chalet for catered meals, creating a warm, sociable atmosphere at every sitting.
After an exhilarating day on the slopes, you can relax in the outdoor hot up or make use of the dedicated driver service, offering effortless access to Val d’isere’s shops, bars and lifts. The 7-seater shuttle operates six days a week (closed Thursdays) between 8:00-11:00 and 4:00pm-7:00pm – with the final schedule to be confirmed.
Fresh Flavours and Apres Evolutions
The food and après-ski scene in Val d’isere has always been legendary and 2025/26 raises the bar once again. The most talked-about new arrival is IMA, a vibrant restaurant from chef Elie Fishmann (formerly of Bocuse and Ducasse), serving inventive Near Eastern dishes designed for sharing, all in an atmosphere that gradually transforms from dinner to dance floor.
The iconic La Folie Douce experience also evolves this year with the unveiling of La Folie Douce – Gare Centrale: a vast 650 m² hub that fuses a restaurant, bar, boutique and performance venue in one buzzing, industrial-chic space. Meanwhile, fine-dining enthusiasts can book a table at Bottleneck in the K2 Chogori hotel, where gourmet mountain cuisine meets storytelling, with cheeses by Meilleur Ouvrier de France Bernard Mure-Ravaud and desserts by pastry legend Sebastien Vauxion.

Smarter Slopes and Scenic Upgrades
For 2025/26, Val d’isere is enhancing the ski experience across its vast Espace Killy domain. The Vallon gondola station has undergone a complete redesign – now featuring alpine wood and stone architecture paired with an immersive storytelling display about historic mountain ascents. At the top of the Fornet cable car, visitors will find a new panoramic terrace equipped with orientation tables, binoculars, and cosy seating for admiring the Pointe de la Galise and Tsanteleina peaks.
Skiers who prefer a gentler descent will notice expanded “Ski Tranquille” zones, especially in the Bellevarde sector, where improved signage and an updated resort app make navigation easier for beginners. Access too, is smoother than ever thanks to new QR-code pedestrian passes at key lifts, streamlining entry for both skiers and non-skiers.
Sustainability in Motion
Beyond luxury, Val d’isere is making serious strides toward sustainability. The resort’s long-term initiative, Preserve Val d’isere, continues to push toward a zero-waste goal by 2030. This season, the resort expands its electric shuttle-bus fleet to fifteen vehicles, bringing it close to full electrification. Large tourist coaches are now restricted from entering the centre between 8am and 8pm, reducing congestion and emissions.
It’s a visible reminder that sustainability here isn’t just a buzzword – it’s an everyday part of how the resort runs.
More Fun for Families and Beginners
Families have plenty to celebrate this year. Children under 8 can ski for free across the entire Tignes-Val d’isere area, while beginners of all ages benefit from a new €22 “starter pass” covering the gentle Solise slopes and carpets.
Off the slopes, La Folie Douce has launched a “Folie Academie” for children ages 6-14, offering creative workshops from chocolate-making and DJ lessons to fashion and photography. Add to that the whimsical Lost Village adventure zone, an ice rink, and dedicated kids’ clubs and it’s clear Val d’isere is as family-friendly as it is glamorous.
Events to Mark on Your Calendar
The resort’s social calendar remains as vibrant as ever. The legendary Critérium de la Première Neige returns for its 70th edition from 13 to 21 December 2025, once again drawing the world’s top ski racers.
