Val d’Isère has one of the most varied après ski and nightlife scenes in the French Alps, and it is the kind of place where the evening feels like a natural extension of the day rather than a separate event bolted on after the lifts close. The action starts early, often from early afternoon on the mountain itself, and builds steadily through the evening into club nights that run well past midnight.

The range on offer is genuinely wide. At one end of the spectrum you have La Folie Douce, the legendary piste-side venue at 2,400 metres where DJs, live performers, and champagne on sun-drenched terraces make for a party that begins before most people have even thought about heading back down. At the other end, Doudoune attracts world-class DJs and a more sophisticated crowd, while Dick’s Tea Bar has been an institution since 1979 and still packs out every night of the week. In between there are relaxed wine bars with open fires, Scandinavian-themed pubs with happy hours and live bands, hotel bars with panoramic mountain views, and everything else a resort of this calibre tends to accumulate over decades of hosting serious ski holidaymakers.

The geography works in your favour too. The nightlife is spread across three areas: the main Val Village, La Daille, and Le Fornet. Free resort shuttles connect all three until 2am, which means the evening is not limited to wherever you happen to be staying. A catered chalet in one part of the resort puts the whole of Val d’Isère’s nightlife within easy reach, with no need to worry about how you are getting home at the end of it.
